Dan, I wrote this this morning, (the 24’th) then forgot to post it. I tried him back this afternoon, and got the same message. He and Dorothy might be out of town. Was gonna try him tonight, and I had a visitor till just awhile ago! I’ll try tomorrow.

I bought a palet of number two victors that were left after they stopped production, John Eaby was one of 7 distributors after he sold his Northwood trap company to them He told me to buy the #2’s now because they won’t be around long. He even fronted me the money- couple thousand dollars.I have the reciet somewhere with the date,but I’m two thousand miles from home for a while.that date would be real accurate about when they stopped production.

Dan, it sounds like you got what you needed, but Pete called me back just a bit ago. He said Woodstream quit building long springs in 92, and sold the rest to Butera in 96, which doesn’t exactly jive with the 98 timeline given in the text. He said that they kept making conibears and coils after 92, up till when they sold out to Butera. All this is subject to Pete getting old and remembering everything right, which I know can be subject at my age!

Yea I was always [ impressed] when the old guys starts the conversation “ya back in 63 we didn’t get any snow till March, gas was 17 cents a gallon and I had that 49 willys. “

Nimzy, it’s your short term memory that goes first! I can remember about everything I did in high school and earlier, but where I put my gloves can be an issue. Funny though, my memory has gotten a little worse, but I really just complain about it and use it for an excuse! lol
