You need to practice on the wife's washer and dryer, then move up to the fridge Do it when she isn't home and tell her the grandkids came over for a little while.

Wouldn't you use some type of a stencil to trace out design then do the painting?

Back in the eighties when I raced boats, we would get a sign painter to put our numbers on as well as the boat name across the deck. He made a paper stencil for the numbers that had little perforations from a dress marking wheel on the outlines of the numbers. He taped it where the numbers went and used a powder puff over it, then pulled it off and the powder made little marks to guide his free hand painting. It was fun to watch him work. He had to paint, "Smoke On The Water" twice because I crashed the first one and destroyed it.

My old truck had them. Sure got teased when my coworkers saw them. Pressure washed em off the next day, but too late. Takes a long time for them to forget.

A guy in Denmark Iowa used to freehand a pattern that had Humming birds, caterpillars, and butterflies with grape vines. He did the whole school bus that was white and the rest was green. He used an air brush. It was amazing to watch him,
