sucks for under ice beaver trapping...set up a colony last weekend, finally get back today and the ice is pretty bad
2-330's in the runs caught muskrats ...1 snarepole got a blanket ..I pulled and will have to wait until we get some cold weather again

All our snow has melted even in the woods. Ice fishing is getting sketchy because of ice conditions on lakes. Unless we get some really cold temps, ice out will be very early this year.

Ice here sucks too. Snow is melting fast, mud still underneath. Not good winter weather at all.

All mud and flooding here. Never got on the ice or on the snowmobile. Same thing as last year. Couple big snows for a week followed by real warm temps and flooding. I miss when we use to have a winter. Guess it's a thing of the past

Mud season here right now and I don't like it at all.

Most of the snow is gone here, ice hasn’t been safe all year, but we can still get a lot of snow here especially with it so warm and it’ll be wet and heavy.

I doubt i could get a cable anchor with a hubcap to hold right now in this slop. Pretty bad when you have to try to rig up a drowner set on coyote sets.

Allow me to add my whines....rain rain followed by ice storm, more rain, landslides. I've been trying to trap beavers since early December and up 'til now have managed to have 10 trap checks. That's it. River is cresting right now so still in wait mode.

Winter might be over- I just got in under the wire last week before the warm-up- still had a layer of frost in the ground so I ordered a few loads of 1-1/4" Breaker Run for improving some trail systems. This load was going to be long spread but the dump truck tires just spun and pile dumped. Had to shovel gravel under the tires to get some traction to get the truck out, the little snow and frost we had will be gone this week.

Pulled some fuel tanks out of the ground in far SW Iowa last week. I was surprised how deep the frost was.

Well? how deep was it?

We are having march weather in January, so I hate to think what March might be like.

Seems to be the same conditions here in UT. Get a week of cold temps, then two weeks of above average temps. Then it snows and begins the cycle all over. It's been a real pain setting footholds for cats! I've all but given up with footholds and dealing with the freeze/thaw rain/snow. Time to break out the cage traps and finish the cat season.
