It was a promise from God to make Abraham have a huge number of descendants. It appears to have happened as there are likely many million descendants of Abraham. I am traceably descended from both Ishmael and Isaac.
Keith That's unbelievable. I don't know what "traceably descended" means, but there's no certainty that Ishmael and Isaac were real people, as opposed to mythological. How do you trace DNA to mythological people? Furthermore, any records of descent were almost certainly lost, along with most other writings of any kind, during the Dark Ages. the Bible was one of the few works that survived. JIm

www.familysearch.org has millions of people traceable back to Abraham and back to Adam and Eve even. I do suspect a lot of the older records may be inaccurate, because they are based on oral tradition, from milienia ago, but they are there just the same. The Family Search website contains more than 8 billion names, 3.2 billion digital images, and almost half a million digitized books. Over 1 million new records are added each day. Setting up an account is free and they never try to sell you anything. It is the largest genealogy database in existence. I recommend setting up an account. The original document records you can pull up are invaluable for genealogy. Keith

Lots of evidence out there that Hebrew may indeed be the oldest spoken/written language. Older than Sumerians and Aramaic.

I've heard that danvee. That would make sense biblically. Egipt was a great nation of trade In the days of Jacob. The Midionites who were third generation from Abraham's 2nd wife were traders. They pulled Joseph out of the pit that his loving brothers though him to into and sold him some ishmaelites that took him and sold him in Egyp. That region would have been a real melting pot of intermingling a real milkshake. Most of us probably have DNA from Abraham Issac and ishmael since they descended from Noah. That is if they existed as James said earlier.

What about the recent DNA they have done in central/south America? They give them Balkan area origins. Truth is, our DNA is all mixed up. No way one can prove where Homo sapiens originated from based on DNA. The Africa stuff is so 1980.

"Abraham's seed" I supposed it might depend on if you subscribe to the idea of "replacement theology" or not. I don't.
"British Israelims" and some other rather whacky ideas (including replacement proponents) imo, are merely veiled forms of antisemitism.

Nimrod was the first world dictator. I think he is a precursor to what may happen here. He got his powers from the garments that God clothed Adam with. He is a direct descendant from Ham, and great grandson of Noah.
I don't know what language they spoke in the Garden and before and after the flood, but it would not surprise me in the least that is was Hebrew.
