Picked up my first Wolverine today. And was looking online at mount's thought it would be cool since it's my first one to get it mounted but seen a lot of bad pictures of bad mounts. Does anyone in the Palmer area have a suggestion on who to use? May just get the hide tanned or maybe a rug not sure what the cost would be to mount. But definitely keeping it for myself. And if anybody has a good mount of a wolverine I would love to see it to give me some ideas on what I want to do.

One more thing just hung him up in the shed to thaw out do I have to worry about green belly on a wolverine? Will probably refreeze him soon as I can get the Trap off and let the taxidermist take care of it if I'm mounting or rug don't want to mess it up.

Dahlberg does really good taxidermy. Haven’t seen any wolverines that he has done though.

Congratulations on your first. They do end up with green belly a bit. I haven’t yet had one be affected by that in the tanned product. It is best to thaw them hanging head down, so that the guts fall as low as possible into the rib cage. But, you most likely already know that.
I know some will disagree, but after turning the ears, nose, lips, and feet I salt dry all of my taxidermy quality hides before sending them off to Moyles.

I deal with a taxidermist some with wolves and send all the cougar hunters I can and bears to him. He prefers them salted over dried, so anything I send to him gets salted.

If the animal was in the trap a day or 2 his belly is mostly empty. Or was it a conibear? Then his belly could be full. Full belly is high risk of souring. Be a shame to have a crappy mount. You could get a ruff or 2 out of the back part and do a shoulder mount with the front.

I see dahlbergs mentioned. They are on Facebook. You can see a lot of their work on their page

I have two buddies that used Dahlberg for their wolverine mount and both were very pleased with his work. I saw both and they were a work of art for sure!

There are only a few forms commercially available for wolverine, so unless custom made, pose is limited.
I have a lifesize and a great rug. I prefer the rug, actually.

Just doing what I want now.

Mad_mike is spot-on, as to green belly.

X2

If worst comes to worst you can have the mount hugging a rock or log, or walking in belly high grass

Till that day.....
