What does everyone else use for baking sourdough bread in? I was using Corning but broke so will need to replace. I suppose some may use a cast dutch oven or glass.

Cast iron dutch oven here too. My wife make crackers with the discard often. Rolls it out thin and bakes it.

I have a few cast Dutch ovens, But my go to is a Le Creuset bread oven it is cast with an enameled finish. It has low sides with a deep lid so you do not burn your hands when you set the loaf into it.

I got one of these for my birthday last year. They are very handy.

If you want a round loaf of presentation quality, Lodge cast dutch oven. The kind without the legs. Normal shallow top is the bottom and deep part becomes the lid. Pre-heat in 500 degree oven.

Elongated presentation quality loaf, use a bread baking stone. The lid from a blue enameled roasting pan is the cover. Pre-heat both in 500 degree oven. You will need some kind of peel for transfer onto and off the baking stone.

Day in, day out something to eat loaf, use a standard non-stick bread pan.

Google the Challenger....it's a cast iron bread baking vessel.

When I have some expendable cash...I will own one
