In WV you cannot hunt on Sunday on Public land but Private you can. I was told that the Public Land was lifted and you can hunt on them as well.

Back when we did have that law it kept more of the citiots from trying to lease land because it wasn't worth it to them to hunt one day a week because of work. With two days
now they're everywhere.
I regularly have 5 or 6 people from the city ask to lease my land every year to hunt. I always ask if they think other people could trap it while they hunt and the answer is always NO. Trapping runs right along with hunting seasons
here.
I've lost almost 80% of my trapping from farmers that are my lifetime friends because of hunting leases.
I don't blame them most are getting old and the extra money is needed for ever rising taxes. I just can't pay what these groups of guys put up for leasing.
I've tried trapping what little public land there is but too many hunters on it from the city. All animals are shot or stolen.
With a thruway exit in the little town 7 miles down the road. This gives them quick access to my parts near me
I was all for hunting Sundays until I saw the repercussions in my little neck of the woods.

It saves alot of game here in Maine. Not just the big game but the small game as well honestly. I dont mind a mandatory day off

You just can't hunt with dogs on Sunday in Virginia. It was a compromise.

Seems like an anti move. Punish the working person that works all week and then take away 50% of their available hunting opportunity on the weekend. Id demand 1/7th of my property tax back for not being able to hunt my land that i pay tax on

It's by municipality here. Thankfully it was charged in my area and most others years ago.
Only thing that sucks is that areas with the ban get a late goose hunt and areas with Sunday hunting close up season just when the birds are getting here.

Sunday hunting has been illegal in PA since the 1800's. It's one of the last of our Blue Laws and the ban was originally pushed for by the religious sector. The Tman Christians should be able to understand that. I remember when doing anything but worshiping and resting on a Sunday was considered a sin. Back then if a housewife dared hand out laundry on a Sunday it caused the neighborhood biddies to chatter and squawk for weeks!

Their have been multiple attempts to overturn the ban but the farmers oppose that and they are a powerful group in this state.

We've been able to hunt for coyotes, foxes, crows and on non-commercial game preserves for quite some time. In the last few years Three Sunday hunts were added to the fall seasons.

and they apparently don't have farmer church 6pm Sunday or a service at 5 on Saturday.
