Here in Nebraska there is no tax on food. Kansas is 6.5% but they lowered it to 3% during covid to help a person out. How bout your state?

Life ain't supposed to be easy.

Sales tax - 6% - on groceries in Idaho. Where I live, Washington state is 8 miles away. No sales tax on groceries in that state.

No, not on groceries or clothing.

If the food is cooked like at a restaurant, that is taxed.

Tennessee doesn’t have a state income tax. So we pay around 10% tax on everything we buy.

I found this out years back on a trip to mid south shooter supply. Picked up 59lbs of powder thousands of primers and projectiles and dies and Brass. Spent several thousand on that trip. Shipping and hazmat would have been cheaper than the side trip with sales tax I discovered.

Mississippi's is highest in the nation at 7%. But our low property taxes help to offset that.
