set up a log of ammo as a thread I choose $$Ammo$$ so that it would be easily searchable in a few months and give us a perspective at price of specific items at a defined time

I often write what I paid on a box with the date when I get home it helps me with how old is it and what I paid

some common ammos , primers , powders

not sure how much it will help if it is something very obscure
if it was some deal no one else is going to get like a garage sale isn't very relevant.

where you purchased it if you don't want to give up your favorite little store how about county and state or online source.
number of rounds and price paid.(shelf price not necessary what you paid with tax)

You're way too organized! My go to round is whatever is on the floor mat or in the console.

The same shells are listed for $8.03 on ammo seek. Shipping would play into it, but if I thought $10.95 was a deal shipping would be added too, if they ship.

I have been going through the random .22lr that ends up I'm mutual places mixed with change ECT and running it in the boys trap line handguns to get rid of it. Some is so old it's white. Accuracy isn't an issue at 5 yards. Made a good dent in it.

Last ammo I bought was cci blazer brass 9mm on sale at rural king for $11 back before Xmas.

I found 8.84 for segmented hp mini mags with 10.99 shipping that shipping staid the same 10.99 till I added 13 boxes
that would make the price on 12 boxes of 100 9.76 a box if you bought 12 at once. that was the best I found on ammo seek for that specific load. ammo seek does now have a new shipping considered button and that may be why we got different results I used the button.

10.95 is fair but no special deal and no shipping, you can buy mini mags at that shop every day for the same price they don't ship
they don't have special deals but they always have fair prices and ammo on the shelves when a lot of places didn't
it is a small shop that is open a few hours a night , the owners have other jobs during the day.
I get around green county
I was at Martin's in Monroe today but didn't buy any ammo. Martin has fair prices but no super deals the place you go when you need ammo and he is likely to have some of what you need even if you have to pay 2 dollars a box more than you might at farm and fleet of course farm and fleet will often be sold out. 12.99 for 100 rounds of mini mags would be msrp and a lot better than nothing at all.

if you just need a few boxes for hunting both places will have some OnTarget will typically have more and a lot more options including some obscure things like 38-55 22-hornet 250 and a number of other not very common rounds.

MJM if your looking for reasonable prices for gun show sales MSRP would definitely be reasonable , less would sell better . in the other thread I was saying at gun shows are frequently well above MSRP

I haven't bought ammo in over a decade I'll bet. I have enough to last me a long time as is.
I run thru 20 ga target loads the most. I'm getting low on them, maybe 200-300 left.

be ready for a little sticker shock
last year best I could do on a case of target loads was $89

I was at the local gun show today. I found 2 boxes of 270 WSM for $60 a box and 10 boxes of 257 Roberts for $62 a box. At those prices I will never buy another box as I have more then I will ever shoot even if I am always looking.

Been finding Iitalian B&P .410 ammo....2 3/4 #6 shot size. Low brass, not real brass as magnet sticks. But shot some yesterday and seems great for 30 yard work. Oh $14 a 25 round box.

36 dollars for the 250 round Walmart skeet loads now...Last time I bought they were 24 dollars a year or so back.

that might not be very far off depending what it is and how old it is

if your beating 2014 prices on 250 round buy all you can

those Walmart boxes are either miss marked and buy all of what they have before they figure it out or they are 100 round packs that yes were going for 24 dollars about two three years ago

4 boxes of 25 an a cardboard sleeve we were buying them for 4-H and getting them for 20 , then 21 then 23 , then 24 and yes I expect 36 or 9 dollars per 25 rounds is about exactly what it would be now.

that is the point of this thread because I find myself thinking man we were just paying 21.95 for those 100 packs of the federal top flite or Win white box 12ga 7.5 or 8 shot. Then I check the dates and prices I wrote on them in sharpie and have a reality check.

none of the shotgun shells in at least the last 20 years have had actual brass , they are steel with a brass plating

this is why when you find a faded plastic shotshell out hunting in the woods they head is rusted

Most 410's have a 2 1/2 or 3" chamber. A 2 3/4 " shell could cause problems in a 2 1/2" chamber. 2 3/4" is not a common shell length in 410 in the US. I have never seen one and have shot cases of 410 shells.
