Bunch of us old guys were talking today and one brought up an interesting question. You know you have one week left before you check out for keeps what would you do?

Spend it with my dogs,
and hope that I will see them again.

Rob some banks, hide the money for my family. Wouldn't everyone?

Sure would be nice to do a little fishing.

I can't say that I know what I would do, but I would hope that I would do some things to make it a little easier on my family after. Probably round up and sell all my animals at least.

I would hope that I would spend a little bit of that week on the back of a horse with some good friends.

I would call all my friends and relatives and let them know how I feel about them, but would not tell them that I was dying, except for maybe my next youngest brother and/or father. I would get a will knocked out. I would talk to a few large buyers about taking my livestock. I pray everyday, but would likely pray more than normal.

All I will say is there are a couple of local dirtbags that never should have been paroled and couldn't get out of town fast enough.

Heck yeah man I could get in on that! But on top of it I'd boink my old lady any chance I could get lol. And I would be sure to get ahold of everyone who meant something to me to tell them how much I love them. And then in those final moments.... I'd bequeath all my hunting, fishing, trapping gear, and all my mounts to one special person to continue to live out the legacy.

Martin Luther was once asked what he would do today if he knew for certain that Jesus was returning tomorrow.

"Plant an apple tree," was his reply.

That answer didn't make much sense to me at first. But then I pondered it a little. I think he meant we should live everyday as though it may be our last. And not by going crazy, but by making decisions that are forward-thinking.

Something to ponder. None of us who read or contributed to this post knows for sure that this will or won't be our last week on this earth.

Now if you'll excuse me, I gotta few apple trees that need planting.

I will not say WHO I would make sure they met God before me but it would be someone that is anti Christian and mentally unfit to live. Then I would make peace with God.

I'm taking notes on this thread just in case.
