For the OP. I have a couple set up for hunting. One nice thing with the platform is the ability to switch uppers to suit, if you so choose.

Not my style of hunting gun or even range gun. Definitely heavier, bulky and more awkward to handle in a lot of my hunting situations. Design wise it's inherently inaccurate though without a doubt they can be made to be fairly accurate. Though in hunting situations where quick multiple shots are needed I could see their value. Short walk to a prepared blind or stand with relative close shots they are probably acceptable. Truck gun they have multiple pros For me their high potential capacity and quick follow up shots are their biggest value. Just not needed in most of my hunting situations
inherently inaccurate??? I don't know what you have shot but everyone I have shot was very accurate. From low cost 400$ rifles to over 2500$ every single one shot better or just as good than the average bolt guns. They are not my preference of a platform but I have yet to find one that is not around 1.25 or better 100 yard group shooter. Most are much better with good ammo. My cheaper bushmaster I can hit dimes with. Yes I like guns with traditional stocks with drop and sights closer to the bore. But won't let my preference allow me to not give my experience with AR accuracy. Heck they are better shooters than M1 grands and won't string vertical like an m 1 when it starts to warm up. Yet I enjoy shooting an M1 more. Guess I'm just a fud at heart

yes , in 223/5.56 and 300blk
if I didn't have 300blk already I would probably have done 350legend
use an appropriate bullet for the task and it is just a gun.
America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

I'd probably try one for hunting, but not legal here yet for that.
There comes a point liberalism has gone too far, we're past that point.

Walleyed: I suspect that is an Eld's deer.
Interesting. I have spoken with several Vietnam vets who told of harvesting various types of deer, including musk deer to supplement their k-rations when in the field. w
