walleyed finally got in the canoe Friday &
got to set some beaver traps since he got
the green light from the Dr. for his infected
big toe being healed up.

We set four 330's with two bottom edge &
two castor bump sets on the edge of the
cattails along the creek.

We let them set & soak for two days so
when we checked them this morning
we were four for four on the beaver.

It felt good to finally set & check some traps.

All were reset & we will visit them again
on this coming Tuesday.

Just an update on walleyed's beaver activity.

Checked again on Tuesday after a 2 day soak
& picked a 2 year old from a castor bump set.

Set another single #330 castor bump set at
another small marsh with culvert plugging problems.

Wednesday picked a 3XL at a castor set on
the original creek spot with 4 traps & added another set.

Today we picked up a 2XL at the plugged culvert marsh
& a medium at the creek castor bump set.

That gives us a paltry 8 beaver in 6 days from 6 traps.

Today's beaver are now lying in front of the fans drying
so we can get them peeled, frozen, & ready for Groeny.

Groeny Rocks !!!

The beaver are starting to roll here in NY. Picked up 2-40's and a 35 pounder in castor sets today.

Here in the southern zone we have 24 check, 2 day soak like you have would come in handy for me at times, so would an otter season, and getting rid of all the bs regulations we have because of the no otter season. That will probably come after they fix our 5 day fisher season......well a man can dream can't he

48 hour water trapping check comes in real handy for
dodging bad weather or for setting out more traps due
to being more flexible.

It's also a real plus not being saddled with those
otter trapping restrictions up here in the northern zone.

Seems like our otter populations are increasing despite
our very liberal otter season and no bag limits.

Our high otter population is very hard on our muskrat population.
