When checking part of a trapline before daylight i would on occasion leave a tool behind. I always used reflective tacks to mark most sets. Then i came up with the idea to put reflective tacks on my tools.

Cut the pins off the back of reflecting tacks & 50/50 epoxy one to both sides of each tool. A flashlight will immediately show where they are. Reflective tape also works but tends to unravel too much for me if running a waterline

I think this is a great idea. How many reflectors do you put on each tool?

Generally just 2. One each side of wirecutters, hammer, etc.
For coils of wire i'll usually wrap reflective tape on inner few inches of coil end.
I've found 50/50 epoxy (3or5 minute stuff) works best. It holds up even in rain

I lost tools before, I found out it would be helpful to also have your tools be bright pink or fluorescent orange.
