Wife booked a trip I’ve been doing research found cheaper eats and smoke free places to go to it’s only a 2 1/2 day stay there so will see how it goes. I’ve been to NV before but never to Las Vegas.

Law Dog ~ My wife and I have been there twice. We had a great time and really enjoyed ourselves. We are not gamblers so to speak, but did enjoy a couple of shows and we hit most of the "free" entertainment that we could. To me, the most enjoyable part of the trips were riding the transit buses and going to Freemont Street in the evenings. Being from small town Iowa, the things we saw were very eye opening, to say the least.
If all the "different" kinds of people we saw were furbearing critters, then Vegas would be a target rich enviroment and you won't have enough traps.

Staying at the Plaza it’s not far from Fremont St it is across the street on the maps I found. The maps are horrible to read with names popping up then gone if you expand the map for reference. No car no trolly running they said but I think I’ll find a lot to do as the place is full of businesses.
If I go anywhere it would be the Park MGM Casino because it’s smoke free.

do yourself a favor and take a tour of the Hoover Dam. The Dam tour and Power Plant tour are worth it. We did it three weeks ago on a business trip side trip. Come to think of it the power plant tour encompassed the Dam tour as well. Las Vegas was a neat place that is very good at seperating you from your money. We did pretty good at slot machines for 1/2 hour or so but everything cost and everything is expensive in the strip area. Also hope you like the smell of marijuana. There are shops selling it right on the strip and alot of folks were smoking it when we where there.

Bring good walking shoes. 2-3 nights is enough for me, but there’s so much to do, we decided we’ll go every winter for a few nights. We’ve stayed in the big casinos on the strip, but rooms were $66 a night. Everything on the strip is big $. We spent a day just walking along the street then working our way back through the casinos back, still haven’t seen the whole strip in 2 visits. Grand Canyon was worth it, a bus tour ticket was $110 and it’s about 11 hours. Renting a Shelby GT500H next year to go to the dam for sure!

For a guy who quit drinking, I was a bit nervous going the first time. Loved it, you can walk up & down Fremont and be entertained for free all night. Surprised how clean everything is with all the goings on.
