- You cannot shoot down a drone, even to "protect" your property, (unless it were armed)
- A fence around your property might give you the same expectation of privacy from the air as from the ground
- A drone should not be operating within 50ft of your home.
- The drone must be within line of sight of the operator, so he is reasonably nearby. Watch where the drone goes, or have the Sherriff do it.
- Once the operator has been located and given notification, any further flights over your property are subject to criminal trespass.
Local regulations vary all over the place; but, above are general expectations. Now, on the other hand you decide to make your own rules; expect the other party to do the same. I have adopted my own rules of conduct entitled Seven Years of Bad Luck

The idea of doing some skeet shooting next time it shows up might work, get a hand thrower and have some fun with the kids. And remember you are being photographed.

You can do whatever you want. I am not letting a pervert or thief either one video the inside of my home. By the time a deputy got here the thief pervert would be in another county. IF the thief pervert calls the law I guess a jury will decide if video invasion of privacy should be tolerated.

P.S. if its the tax assessor he would be driving. Not flying a drone at window level.

All great ideas!! just remember those things have cameras and gps, take it down and they still have your picture and location. Gotta have a strategy... Just like pulling the trigger hunting the last several years. My boys can handle it. Anyone wants to come pick it up is more than welcome. They should get the message to be polite.

Insurance companies use drones to inspect roofs of property they insure. But I think they would let someone know if it was obvious someone was home So does the county tax collector!

I see no problem, using steel shot and a plugged for three rounds shotgun. I mean if your gonna take it out, 12 gauge 3 inch #2 or BB steel full choke! Use steel in case they call them migratory....
you're only allowed so many sunrises... I aim to see every one of them!
