Come'on mud, spill the beans! How much did you get for them purty otters of yours?I was happy all things considered. 70.75 for 4 otter and 65+ on the other 5. 24$ for the feet on fox.
April is autism awareness month. Nearly 1 in every 100 children are born with an autism spectrum disorder.. 1 in 100. Stop and think about it...please

^^^^I would be happy with that in today's market. The $100 I got for those two was certainly an anomaly. Wish I knew the story behind it. Funny thing was they were both pretty 45" otters one feet on and one not. Was hoping to see what the price difference would be...and they each brought a C note. LOL
I have 4 to take to the OTC sale this Saturday. I'll let you know how it goes.

Bearcat, I got a live beaver story for you:
One time I was trapping on a coastal lake and i pulled up the boat to the shoreline and saw my 330 was gone. So while I'm looking around for where the cable is I spy a tail sticking out of the tule grass along the shore. SO I get out of the boat in my chest waders and grab the tail and start pulling it out and all "heck" breaks out. Hind feet jettisoning gallons of water per second all over me. Well i keep on pulling and finally I see this big blanket beaver is not attached to any trap! He had come to work the set and when I showed up he hid in the tules, just tail sticking out!

I finally got him in the boat and was somehow able to get my 22 rifle from the boat and get a shot through his head without putting a hole in my boat! A few moments later i found the other beaver under 4 ft of water in the 330!

A double with one trap right?

And finally, I'm done putting up beaver this year except for one I'm doing for a demo this Saturday. (Skinning and putting up).
Might be a record for me, I put up 34 yesterday so as they will be ready for the sale this Saturday.

Thanks Boco. Twenty-two boards and three coffee cans full of 7 brites. I don't turn cats anymore....went with the borax and fur out method from the git-go and seems to work great for me.

I have no problem turning cats,I dont use any chemicals on leather when drying fur.I will rub in a little borax on the fur around the skirt if there is some grease present on fatty cats from scraping.

Nice one Cattrapper
NF, you got them otter down. Your put up looks fantastic.

Third night in the teens coming now. Most water here is locked up again.

Dad's surgery went fine and he's already up at em'. Told me he don't need any molly coddling and I should quit fussin on him and mom and go trapping. Even moms been at her best lately. Sure is a relief to me. Dad's a tough old bird. I can only hope to measure up to his standards and stamina if I live that old.

How long before your boards are shot BP.Since I started using the pinning nails my boards last quite a bit longer.get 4 or 5 years out of them now. Then I recycle them as marten boxes.
I keep about 10 boards handy.

Boco, the leather on these otter doesn’t have any of those black marks like they usually have.
Dale, Thanks I’ve been getting plenty of practice on the otters lately. Gerry boards em, I skin and flesh em.

Boco, I just put into service about another 9 boards this last year and I've got quite a few that are due to retire. Probably have got about 9-10 years out of my 3/4 sanded shop boards. NF, them otters are very handsomely done. Hope you guys score big on 'em. I know what you mean about the spots. It used to drive me crazy when Nafa was grading them as section III and called them tick bites. I knew that wasn't true. ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2024/03/full-698-212627-f8e34296_80e7_41ce_b3ad_dbfa2a8c3dd9.jpeg) What do you think of this one?
