Walleyed, Your unnecessary commentary on Mark Downey is sad and revealing of your character. Reminds me of toxic adolescents JR. High. That seems to be his MO. He likes to comment on 22 year old female basketball players appearances too. As for the auction...it was ok....raccoons advanced some....not great by any means but somewhat better than the last few years. Skunks still selling strong....rats...well...I finally sold a few...going on 3 years sitting up there for the majority.

I was happy to see some movement in the coon market for the first time in a few years. My eastern gray back bobcat sold for $170 which I didn't expect. In my opinion, they did a great job with the auction so a pat on the back for FHA.
57 years trapping. It's who I am. Every day is still as exciting as it was when I was a kid but a little more work.

NO You live in Montana, go to the Bunkhouse Restaurant at the Yellowstone club. They let the peasants in on occasion. Valentines Day I believe.

NO Wife and I were guests at the Jupiter Island Club in FL once, no prices on the menu. Luckily my wife and I were not paying. LOL

Obviously the brought out roughly 13K of coon they felt would sell and they did. $12 average for westerns is better than we have seen for a bit. Don't know how many lower grades and sizes are in holding at FHA and other places but at least decent coons can be sold. Rats continue to show reluctance by FHA to sell. My $3.50 average for my catch this year does not look so bad now. About 100k of rats sold if 31% of 300K is correct. Selling coons from the top down and rats from the bottom up, there must be a strategy or reasoning for that. I can understand the need to create liquidity to run their enterprise as well. All buyers need to roll inventory at some time. Sold 1 3xl-lg 1-11 rat for $2.70 and 1 medium rat for $1.40. I got $1.50 for mediums selling in the country. Bryce

I’m a little encouraged by the sale in comparison to the last few. Some items might come back so I don’t lose as much money LOL Beaver and otter stayed decent Coon and rats may be on the way out of the toilet. Interest on poorer rats and more bidding going on with coon is a good sign no matter what the naysayers post

Hey Slick! George Kortum was weighing beaver at our sale yesterday! LOL I can't complain, he paid good money for mine...I was a little nervous that with somewhat lackluster FHA results I might get hurt.
My fear of moving stairs is escalating!

King rat, yes tough on coyotes unfortunately; no low balls” because Ken, auctioneer said he had to stay within 10% of valuations. I had coyotes in a First 6 lots; so disappointed high end didn’t move considering light offering. Marten, Lynx repairing nicely , bobcat spectacular demand. Disappointed on rats, but unfortunately the market rules

d2009 I looked up some of the “higher” lot numbers of 36 to 50+ Coyotes….. they were surprisingly Easterns; but A-B colours
