Just follow what Nancy Pelosi and other Congressmen are buying; you can't go wrong. Some guy has developed an App for following their stock purchases. Of course they get the inside scoop. How else do they make tens or even hundreds of millions of dollars from a job that doesn't pay over $175,000 a year?

I have some index funds already.
  But I keep a Schwab account for my interest at home to work with.
  Looking for a better source of information to select options for my "fun" money. Getting info from the Schwab research data not as easy. I have been going through similar thoughts. Basically have some fun money I don't care to loose to play with. Yet then I read study adapter study that shows dollar cost averaging and index funds always come out ahead over time. Then I question if I should bother and start leaning to sector based etfs to kind of split the difference. Basically financial advisors from Fidelity and Edward Joan's both basically advised index funds or etf's. Stating they tend to win long term. At that point I feel like there's is no point in paying them that's not bringing anything to the table worth paying for and its easy to do self directed. Yet I still seem to want to buy some individual stocks. Sometimes it doesn't have to make since and if I play with less than 10% and kee the rest in etfs and index funds I figured I will be OK. But paying for advice or managed funds don't historically best simple index funds and dollar cost averaging over time. Buti don't know much and have been doing lots of reading and studying charts. It's fun to learn things and even more when a better future is likely the result. White gave me some good reading to look up not long ago.

I have been a Barron's subscriber for at least 40 years. It was tough back when everything was print only. When it arrived in the mail it was already two weeks old. It can be a good source for ideas but nothing is a substitute for your own due diligence.
  Other   guys  that  I  read  when  I can  are ;
  James Grant. Grant's Interest Rate Observer. Mark Hulbert: Hulbert's Rating Service.................his newsletter digests and rates other newsletters
  Howard Marks: Oakmark Capital. This guy IMO is the best there is at getting a good read on what is happening in the economy.
  Steve Sosnick: Chief Strategist at Interactive Brokers........contributes to a daily aggregation of articles and opinions on markets and the economy. He is a must read daily for me. You can find his stuff at Trader's Insight......and sign up for free access emailed to you daily........I am an Interactive customer, but I don't think you have to be to sign up . Give it a shot

  If you are looking for a service that tells you what and when to buy..........I can't recommend any
  If there was a person to tell us what and when to buy, he would be a popular person. No one could give a true or honest answer to that question. No one knows, it would be a guess. Great advise White.

My dad has used Motley Fool for many years. He has never had an annual earned income over 35K. He is a multi-millionaire today and inherited nothing. Granted, he is 84 years old now and quite thrifty. He bought me a subscription last Christmas and there is some decent information to be gleaned from their stock picks.

  If you are looking for a service that tells you what and when to buy..........I can't recommend any white17- Any of your folks telling you of a 30-50% correction when the ole US of A slides into a major recession or an outright depression in the next couple of years...? Do anyone of such folks recommend either shorting specific stocks in general or the use of ETFs that are basically shorts...??
