I have bought my trapping privilege from NY DEC for nigh on to 46 years. Kept thinking....this year I will get up there and trap again. After a great work career and COVID restrictions into my retirement, I decided I just have to do this....I set steel for beaver and muskrats on the trapping ground of my youth which I bought for pure nostalgic reasons. There are no words for the feeling when you round the bank and see a tail waving gently in the water. I will sell my fur soon. The dollars will have no meaning compared to the joy of reliving those precious moments of my youth. I also know next year will find me reliving those memories again through days of making sets.

I'll bet you don't run to the sets like you used to, tho.

Sounds great, I also revisited a few old trapping spots these last few years. Sure brings back a lot of memories

Good for you, I love going back to spots that I was at when I was kid.

Good for you reliving your youth like that and not letting go of those "good ole days". There are some things money can't buy and you found one of them.

My wife wants me to wear a bracelet that belonged to her grandfather. It says, "Do Not Resuscitate".
