They used to have the captain's wafer crackers at the restaurants my paternal, maternal, great grandparents would take us to as kids. I liked the crackers because there was a little sweetness to them. They would take us to a buffet called Duff's in or near Piqua, Ohio and some diner type restaurants. The crackers were always kept on the tab!e and the waitresses would bring more, when we ate them. This was back in the seventies and early eighties.
I liked the club crackers my parents had for cheese at parties too.
I don't know why, but I've never bought any as an adult.
Keith That’s a cute story. The last time I went to Eat N Park they served them with soup.

I keep a box of them on the floor hind me in the Subaru and truck. I like the sour crème and chives, as well as the hive cheddar. The used to make ones called smokehouse cheddar, but quit selling them. I even rote a letter to Lance telling them t was a mistake to discontinue them. They were the bomb. I remember them! I have called many companies to express a desire for discontinued snacks! Cheetos Paws specifically. They DID release them again for a short period…and during Easter they sell egg shaped ones that have the same flavor and texture. There’s a lot of things I’d like to see come back, Doritos 3D, Fruitopia drinks, Original New York Seltzer soda (it can be bought online but it costs an arm and a leg…..we used to get it at Rite Aid for .40 a bottle in the early nineties

I buy a bunch to take fishing/hunting anytime I catch them on sale at a Dollar/.25 store.

Keith I miss that. I remember years ago a lot of restaurants would put a basket of individually wrapped crackers of all kinds as a free appetizer. Munch on them and they would bring you more.

Cream cheese and chive were my favorite.
Haven't seen them around these parts for a few years now. Haven't had them in a bit , just bought a 10 pack last week from Wal-Mart. Already ate 4 packages.
