Seton used a similar set back in 1894 when he trapped Lobo,Blanca and the rest of the currumpaw pack.

I believe Slim P. said that....yes we have those type of sets here too. I remember setting up a small sheep farmers property one year and saw his sets...they looked like that picture. Landowners/farmers don't give a rip about the rules as no-one is helping them out. They do what common sense tells them to do...legal or otherwise....get the job down so to speak. Yes, definitely bad for the non targets but so are windmills and cars.....

Yes using body parts from the wolves already caught is a well known method that wolf trappers use to catch others from the same pack.
It works even better using parts from wolves from an outside pack.

The carcasses I dumped weren’t touched by wolves this winter, they came by within 30-40yds twice and stole a rabbit out of a snare but just passed through. I didn’t have any wolf sets near the carcasses, just some boxes.
They were all 1-3 year old females.

Were they indoor or outside wolves? Boco said outside wolves work better

Tie the wolf carcass behind your snowmachine, fourwheeler, or whatever and drag it in to your bait site. I've seen them track the drag trail for miles, and then not come in the last few yards to the carcass. But if they follow that drag trail they are running down your line and going right past any sets you have out, including any you have in the vicinity of your bait site, even if they don't come in the last little ways.

That’s how I got one of the carcasses out there. It’s not their first rodeo, they don’t follow snowmobile trails, but May kinda parallel for a short distance in the bush. I’ve had all my success with my snares at least 40rds away from a bait or blind setting a bunch a mile away from any bait.
