I got 4-5 of these little fellas. What are they for and are they worth anything.

originally I think they started as samples

but then a lot of people used them as ash trays

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Salesman sample? Easy than packing around a full size pan. Give away to customers or purchasing agents.

My 7 year old has a couple that size, that came with a little cookie making kit she got for christmas. One of those things where it has a little bag of mix that you just add water to, and bake it in the little pan in the oven. Just cheap walmart garbage that is probably intended to be thrown away.

Anyway, she likes cooking with cast iron, so I sanded most of the really rough stuff off and seasoned them for her, and she uses them to cook one single egg, either fried or scrambled.

Don’t think these came from Walmart. Got them out of an old house that has been empty for about 25 years. Roof fell in on back part of it. Lady that lived in it was 93 when she passed. I’ve had them for 10-15.

I think they were used as a training aid for the Alabama football players.

Close, that teardrop and ridge handle is distinctive for BSR. Birmingham Stove and Range, as in Birmingham, Alabama.

Salesman sample would be correct but BSR also did a huge trade in advertising pans, both in miniature and full size but mostly miniature.

Seems like every major entity in central Alabama had a run of mini skillets done with their logo cast on the bottom.

As said most ended up as a spoon rest or ashtray.

As for value, no idea. I'm sure a BSR collector would have interest but the marked ones seem to draw more interest.

I have one that say's "Honey, I shrunk the skillet" on the cooking side and "Lodge" on the fire side.

I always thought the small skillets were for an egg or 2.
