Mind if I identify as your Nephew?
Moosetrot I have two Nephews.....that identify as nieces. We don't speak. Probably because you never took them camping or fishing

Interesting options maybe…
160…. Without getting too specific we used to go up to the north end of lake Winnipeg and there all the flowages and rivers run northeast to Hudson Bay. You can off load and drift, paddle, motor as far up those waterways as Hudson’s if you want.
Daily there is a pack train that runs out to the bay as well. When you’ve had enough work your way to the rail line, the train will pick stop pick you up. You can toss your boat on and gear on an open car and they bring you back to your starting point. Runs from The Pas to Churchill and back.
You can go the opposite, drive straight north of you to northern Ontario up in the Red lake country and jump onto the Berens River system and take that flowage downstream, west, to lake Winnipeg. Your outfitter picks you up over there and brings you back at the end of your trip. Incredible fishing along the way for both.
I’ve taken clients on some amazing flyins at great prices paying only the plane ride, to places they have only a boat, bring your gear as you said.
It can be an unbelievable adventure kudos to your niece for wanting to go along and keep ol uncle Pinky safe.
Osky That sounds like a great trip! We will be going East of Nipigon on this adventure. I have 4-5 lakes that we can drag the boat into that I suspect have seen very little fishing pressure. As long as the bugs and weather aren't horrible and the bears leave the wall tent alone it should be a good trip. Sounds great Rob, I’ve never spent much time on the waters that far east. I’ve heard good things. Skeeter coils are your best friend. Osky

You're going to need a chaperone. I am willing to volunteer for the duty. Is your niece good looking?
I'm just happy to be here! Today I'm as young as I'll ever be and and older than I've ever been before!

Congrats, sounds like you're a great uncle that she enjoys taking on adventure with. Two suggestions: 1 - You should post a picture of your neice so we all feel like we know her for when you post your fish pics from the trip. 2 - Consider taking all of your fish pics with her holding the catch when you update us after your trip.

Sounds like a great trip. Take a bunch of pics to look back on as the years past. Sounds like you have been an influence in her life if she still wants to hang out with Uncle 160.

Sounds like great fun. Check for outboard motor restrictions on the lakes you intend to visit. Unless things have changed in the 30 years since I fished out there, prepare to catch a lot... and I mean a lot of hammer handle northern pike with a real chance for a few monsters. Walleye fishing will almost certainly be really good. Lots of small mouth bass also.
I was never much of a trout fisherman, but I know many of those lakes have brook and lake trout... unsure if lakes that way were stocked by MNR with splake or not.
Just happy to be here.

Sounds like a great time. Nice to see someone who enjoys the outdoors like you do. I have a granddaughter like that who spends time with me fishing and going to movies.
If someone tears down the American flag and puts another flag in its place, that person should get a free, mandatory one way trip to that country.
