Best of luck Lee.. No knees but both hip. I'm told knees are harder to rehab than hips. I do know plenty of people had knees done. Stay with the process and program and you will be up and running in no time.

Had bilateral, hips and bilateral knees done. You should have been doing at home exercises prior to surgery, after surgery do the PT they give you, do as much as you can between sessions also, the knee itself is fine , it's the muscles and ligaments that need stretching and strengthened. First 2 weeks are challenging, take the good stuff before PT, and as long as you have severe pain, don't let the pain get away from you. I only took the meds a few, maybe 6 times, tylenol the rest of the time.
You'll get a walker and cane, use them. You don't want to fall cause getting up is tough. Get a toilet seat raiser, getting down and up again is tough. Hips are easier than knees, 1 knee is easier than 2, you should be driving in 4 weeks, depending on which knee, and back to work in 6-8 weeks, again depending on what you do...
Good luck,

Lee, you're in your prayers. Hoping surgery goes well for you. I can only recommend following the directions of your therapist after surgery, but don't overdo and set your progress back.

Had both of my knees done. Ice, Ice, Ice, is your friend. Do PT as instructed, doing more can set you back. The first couple weeks can be rough but it is worth it. Unreal the pain I got used to before they were done. Good luck!
