My golly THOUSANDS!!!
man hopefully one day I can have a about a 1000 dp line out LOL
I doubt I even get up to 100 100 isn't too hard to get out in an 8hr day unless you're really picky on spots and putting a lot of miles between sets. Getting to 1000 is doable but you would need a partner or two to run half your line on a 24 check... there's only 1440 minutes so you've got just under 45 seconds to allocate to each trap .

I just hope when I am gone my don't sell for what I told her they cost me. you might want to sell them now and do your family a favor if you don't have a bunch of active trappers in your family a Friend of mine just died last week left the wife with a bunch of expenses and not much for money so he has me trying to sell the guns she doesn't want. the problem is the stuff that brings big money is harder to sell because who has that kind of money laying around. he may have also overestimated the value of some things ---- almost everything. he liked to give nice fat numbers in conversation but I have to say not the best price ever gotten on gun broker , but a fair price I can get sometime soon if you want cash to pay stuff.
America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

I mainly just mink & beaver trap now unless a farmer wants coyotes trapped. For mink lines i have about 200 110's & 120's & about 100 #1.5 LS. For beaver about 30 #4DLS & 40 330's. If i coyote trap for a farmer i use my #4 DLS's. Years ago when i did a lot of all trapping i had maybe 400-500 of all sizes
TILL THAT DAY.....

I'd be curious whats the most you guys have used in a season. Unless your a dealer or collector a thousand plus seems kind of crazy. I have probably 400??? And that is a pain to maintain and store. It's kinda like hoarding. We have thousands. And use a couple-three dozen a season most years these days. The problem us trap hoarders face is not being able to sell. For example, 20 years ago I planned to do an out-of-state muskrat line and geared up for rats and mink. #1 stoplosses, 110s, 160s, #11s, etc. Couple-three hundred traps. Not many if you're running a rat line. Something came up, never did the trip. Never sold the traps. Where I live now muskrat and mink are both pretty much non-existent. But I still have the traps. Moved to IL in the mid-2000s. Was not properly geared up for coyotes. Used my now-husband's Jake traps and was in love with them, but couldn't afford them so geared up with about 4-5 dozen Montgomery and Montana #3s. Over the years, converted to Jake traps and no longer used the Monties....but I still have them. Ran a long-ish line for coon. Geared up with dozens of 1.5 Duke coils for road trapping, and dozens of DPs. Was a one year thing. Still have all the traps. Moved to MS and started trapping coyotes for the live market. Jakes and even the unmodified #3s were too much for live market trapping. Geared up again with Canadian modified Bridger #2s. Still have the Jakes and Monties.... I guess you're getting the idea now.... LOL

My wife says that about shoes and clothes and I'm not too sure about it I made the mistake to have guns out cleaning and she saw. She thinks I have enough of them.... If she only seen them all.

To fail trapping, because of a lack of equipment is a poor excuse. You can buy everything you need.

And here I thought I had a bunch/more than I need. Here are my rough totals. I actually plan on taking a detailed inventory of brand, type, and size.
100 DPs 150 conis (110s, 120s, 150s, 155s, 160s, 220s, 280s, 330s) 250+ footholds (#0, 1, 1.5, 1.75, 2, 3, 4, 5, MB550, MB750, TS-85)
500+ total.
Only 2 i would consider collectors. On a good year I get 300+ set at once. A normal year is about 200.
Seems like I don't even come close to have the most traps but I get a line out bigger than most.

Over the years, I gathered and used a whole bunch of assorted traps. And like many here, I didn't get rid of many; which is a good thing as my son is using traps (allot like kids borrowing tools) and the grandkids are interested too.
