I am going to buy a new string trimmer here shortly and was wondering which one to buy. I want the best "advance the string" head out there... I currently have a 20+ year old Stihl curved shaft that runs super but every once in a while the string wedges or binds inside the head and won't advance too easily. I want one with more power also. Possibly one to put a circular saw blade on it for cutting trees (small). Any body have a favorite on that's the best... in their opinion? I do apologize If I have asked this before.... memory ain't the best. Thanks

And the bigger in size the better. I have the combo unit with 4 different attachments.

I bought a Stihl FS94R five years ago. It's the same as your older one; runs great but the string binds occasionally.

Eh...wot?

Echo straight shaft seems to be most popular with the local lawn services.

Shindiawa. They build a great string trimmer. Various sizes and attachments . i have seen many pro lawn care folks running them. The one I purchased is the right below the commercial grade trimmer. Easy to operate, Powerful and no problems. Check them out.

Go with a Stihl commercial grade string trimmer. I believe I went with one of the bigger sizes (can't remember the model) before they made the jump to the bike handle models.
