I have a Kubota L35 (35hp) 4WD with a backhoe attachment for the last twenty-five years. It's been the most rugged and useful machine I've owned.

Eh...wot?

I’ve got a 3350 compact. 33 hp, 27 hp at the pto.

Majority of the non-farmers I know run Kubotas. The only negative I’ve heard or read on them is the new EPA stuff. The newer models go into a high rpm state to heat up the exhaust every so many hours to do something related to cleaner emissions. Mine is a 2016 and I read a lot of reported issues on Kubota forums if you live in an area that actually gets cold, this makes this regen take a long time. For VA, I’ve had zero issues.

Not sure if this is still an issue.

I use mine to maintain everything that’s not farmed or in pines / hardwoods on 170 acres. Including around 6 acres of food plots. Run a 5’ disc and 6’ finishing mower with no issues.

Good luck. I’d get another if I ever upsized.

I've got an L3800DT, manual transmission with 400 hours. So far its been rock solid and I couldn't do without it. I use a 6' bushog, 6' tiller, and 6' disc. I also plant with a 3 row JD 71 planter and a 6' grain drill. It's a little beast!

It depends on the dealer. We have 2 Kubota's and a grumpy dealer LOL. I prefer a non grouchy dealer. The tractors themselves are probably fine. Thieves prefer Kubotas - I guess because of resale value?

We have a MX5200 for almost 5 years and I have had zero issues with it thus far. Next one will have a cab. The Regen cycle mentioned above is not really that big of a deal, probably takes 10-15 minutes for the cycle to complete. I would guess ours does it 2 to 3 times a year. We run ours mostly in the warmer months, not as much in the Winter. We run ours at pretty high RPM mowing and tilling, so that probably keeps the engine hotter most of the time and the build up doesn't likely happen as fast.

I have a L3301. I hate the regen crap. I still haven't figured out what to do when the lights start flashing. Plus there is too much rinky-dink crapola. The PTO engage is a little spring loaded cable that fails regularly keeping PTO engaged at all times. Had the dealership fix it once but it now fails again all the time. The letters on the tractor L3301 is a cheap sticker that is already peeling off after less than 3 years ownership. And don't get me started on their line of "Landpride" implements. Pure crap.

L-3901 HST here. 400 hrs. Does all I need it to do. Flail mower, 5' box blade (should have gone 6', but that's what it came with), post hole auger. Plenty of power for running these implements and moving snow. The regen is annoying, for sure. Always pops up at an inconvenient time, but so infrequently that I have to re-read the directions on how to correct it. The pto requires a couple shots of wd40 on the linkage and springs once a year or so to keep from sticking in the on position. HST is the way to go for a lot of back and forth operations, like clearing snow or moving gravel.

Sort of a vague question. If you’re mowing amd maintaining a few acres it’ll be great. If you plan to put up a couple thousand 5x6 round bales per week, its not gonna work.

I was trying to politely point out that your question makes no sense. Everyone knows Kubota makes a good sub compact tractor, thats a given. What sort of “thoughts” are you looking for if not task specific? Without knowing what you want to do with it, no one really knows what to say other than good tractor.

After many years of sports turf management, for what it's worth, Kubotas are very turf friendly, John Deere was not. Kubota is very east to train new hires on John Deere were not.
JD were used on rock pickers, sand wagons, water tankers, our heavy haulers. Kubota were used on all turf working equipment. John Deere belongs on dirt, Kubotas were good on grass.

If the lights start flashing, bump the throttle up to higher RPM, I usually just push it up to 1,500. Keep working or let it set. The engine heats up and burns out the exhaust deposits. We have the same issue with the PTO switch on occasion. Realized if you turn the PTO on and pull up on the button it locks it into place on our tractor, then it does not accidentally shut off.

What about handling dry poultry manure? Which brand works best for this application?

dry poultry litter guys by me are running kubota skid steers to clean out barns - tyson broilers

we were building fence 3 weeks ago and using 3 kubota skidsteers and our dealer rep from crown power stopped by - he had a Japanese engineer from Kubota with him and was examining the products out in the field and questioning all the farmers about them. First time I have ever witnessed a field enginner who honestly was inquiring how to improve issues with equipment from first hand users - he was in the field attaching all kinds of go-pros and recording lots of the operations and questioning how all we used the skidsteers. This meant quite a bit to me - to see first hand that Kubota cares enough to send their engineers to the field to improve things. If they have issues - they want to fix it - I beleive this is stronger in the Japanese culture

4701 with 900 hours. Great machine and real workhouse. My only problem is my long legs tend to turn the key off when I turn to look behind me when moving snow with box blade

I talked to the dealer who also runs the Case IH dealership along with New Holland and Kubota. He said they sell 3x the Kubotas the last few years and they repair 3x the amount of CaseIH equipment. He said thats just the facts of our local dealership
