How's the night illumination with the Reveal? I have a moultrie cell cam that's 4 or 5 years old and it lacks much illumination at night, so I can't see much past 10-15 yards in night pics, even though the motion sensor pics up stuff further away than that.

Tactacam is pretty good with the IR flash.

So… what’s your preference Swamp? I have been late to the game running cell cams. On my last few working card cams and looking to upgrade this year. Most of the boys I know run the Reveal X and love them.

I have the reveal as well, first time I used it was last fall for bear and I thought it worked great

The Spartan Go-Cam may be the most trouble free I'll own. I paid $240 for the one I have but same model can be bought today for $200. Ive had this about 7 years....30 thousand + pics. The phone app is very basic. Just pic viewing. I have a 6volt sealed battery in a plastic ammo box on this camera. One charge = 6 to 7 months and lots of pics. $5 month unlimited pics on my Verizon account.

The Tactacam Reveal I have does have a red glow when it takes a pic. The newer models do not. Great on batteries.....lasts about 6 months on Alkaline. Not very cold here. Have had this camera for 2.5 years....in woods entire time. The phone app is pretty good as they have added tagging features that allow you to organize pics. Paid $119. Can get newer model for that now. $8 month for 500 pics.

The Moultrie Edge has been flawless...had it about 1.5 years. Been in woods entire time. Great on batteries....lasts a year on Alkaline. But not very cold here. No glitches. App is great. Has species recognition and tagging. Less than $100. $10 month for 1000 pics.

If I was to purchase another I'd probably go with the Tactacan or the Moultrie as I like the app features...and the price is good. Can get 2 for price of 1 Spartan.

I've always worried I'd end up with a bad camera. Reading thru the reviews of every brand it seems like there are always some bad experiences. I've been lucky..so far....except for Stealth....they have been terrible for me...amd they were all SD card pull cameras.

It’s funny you say that Swamp. The Stealths have been the ONLY card cameras I’ve had that have lasted me more than 2 years. Pic quality was always enough for me to get by.

I’m running Spypoint right now, but the nicer Flex just crapped out. New batteries….no power. If you paid for 1 year premium subscription it was cheaper and they’d reimburse you 3 or 4 months if you canceled it in spring. Not so any more, so I might try a different brand. The Flex takes really sharp images, lots of maggotpistols!

We are running 5 Tactacams with no complaints
Got the last 3 on clearance after deer season at a local retailer for 40% off
Cost me $25/mo for 1250 pics and I have yet to hit the limit

I had 5 cuddebacks that had to be linked, took C size batteries and cost more for the plans
Took good pictures but costs were considerably more

Spypoint has a cheaper plan and with no data plan it’ll always send up to 100 pics a month for free. Just the 100 pics can be chewed up in 1 afternoon if the sun & wind is right…lol
