I haven’t heard anymore or less than normal this time of year. Although, with gnats and mosquitoes constantly buzzing in my ears they could be singing like crazy and I’m just not hearing them.

I'm itchin' to see a coyote twitchin'.

More trappin' and less yappin'.

Not even the normal, every-year cicadas are here. It's like they vanished. It's eerily quiet this summer.

Proudly banned from the NTA.

Bother me tomorrow. Today I'll buy no sorrows.

I think it's about ran it's course here. Still see a few around but not like a few weeks ago. I've noticed I haven't seen any of the regular annual ones though.

The 13 year brood has already come and gone here. They were here for about 2 weeks but it has been quiet for a week now. The bigger annual ones will show up later in the summer.

I was in southern Illinois last week and they were in their peak while we were there. They were thick and loud. They say that there are 3 million/ acre. Sounds about right. These were the 13 year cicadas. The 17 year locusts were supposed to be coming out north of Springfield.
