Got a sale coming up with some used traps on it.not sure what sizes but from the pics I would assume 330's,220's and some foothold. Maybe 2's or 3's coilsprings. There rusty but been hanging inside of a shed.what would be a fair price on them?

I would look up new prices on them and depending upon the brand, age and condition go no higher than half price for the better ones.

probably sell better if cleaned up

all over the place

clean basically ready to set traps last week at the Rondy about 66% of new unless it had some sort of collector value.

a crate of rusty traps at a yard sale I purchased last year a mix of long springs , jumps and double long springs with a bunch of 110 I paid 20 for the crate full of traps and they guy seemed more concerned with parting with the crate I had to give him an extra 2.50 for the milk crate so I didn't have to carry them all home in brown paper sacks.

I think 50% of new is fair if they’re not ready. Some garage sales I pick up a bunch of mixed stuff for 5 or 10 bucks. But some people think they’re worth more as decorations and want way more than they’re worth. Was at local flea market. Guy wanted $20 for a newish Duke #1. Said I’d give him $8 and that I bought a few brand new ones from the local store down the road for $12 a piece. He said that I can’t use these anymore cuz they’re illegal, they’re collector wall hangers and he’s not going to deal with me any longer…..lol!
Cousin bought what he thought was one old 330 for $22, didn’t know that the red X12 means 12 traps at the winning bid.

50% might be a no-go...especially if they've been hanging in that shed since 1920..

if they had been hanging in the shed since 1920 they might have gone back up in value as the wall hangers

If the traps only need regular annual maintenance and maybe a chain/cable upgrade, then I want the value of one put up target animal to pay for the trap.

I recently sold most of my trap inventory and kept only what I might need for ADC on my own land. The way I priced them was 1/2 the cost of new traps when bought by the dozen. I thought that was fair to me and to the buyer and the buyer was happy with that price. The Duke 1 3/4 traps with shock springs, upgraded swivels, cross stake ready, and night latched, plus upsized pan bolts were a bargain at that price I think. Everybody was happy with the sale, especially my wife!

Considering the fur market is more volatile than the trap market I don't see this working out that good. I bought some used #1 LS for skunks recently. I didn't pay close to what one skunk is worth. Darn sure not paying for a # 3 Bridger what my cats brought this year. What about when we saw $60 coyotes a few years ago.

I guess I should have been more clear, I want the trap to be less than the value of a target animal.

I stopped by a flea market in Northern NM this weekend. What the tourists will pay for a worn out DLS is incredible.

Check the springs out and the other parts that make up the traps, just a part or two sometimes cost more than a trap itself.

If in good shape, I always figure 75% of new Duke prices.

50% of new DP prices would be $6-8. I averaged $6.75 last year on coon. I'd be okay with $7 DP's, but the market for them seems tight. I'll set more 1.5's for them little bandits.
