Well I survived and I honestly feel great this morning. Falling asleep was really rough. You don’t realize how addicted you are to alcohol until you’re tired of feeling like garbage all the time and want to back off. I guess the best way is to busy yourself with something else. We watched a good foreign film last night called “The Lives of Others” about East/West Germany and the Berlin Wall coming down. So that kept me occupied. Up early today to get breakfast and go fishing. Hope you all have a beautiful Saturday Good to hear. But "GOOD" and foreign film don't belong in the same paragraph . Let alone sentence.........

Drank hard for 30 years. Was so bad that I knew I had to retire at 55 to get at least a few years of enjoyment……and I was OK with that. They guy I talked to on the phone said I’ll need a new thing to do with all my time, so I says I’ll trap. The level that I’m into trapping shows how much I drank…lol. Never made so much money in the last 3 years, piles of OT because I’m capable of working 24/7/365. Go on trips that we never did before. It took a few months, but once you realize how good things are, the cravings are easily dealt with. My friends all drink, which is cool, I didn’t want them to think they shouldn’t drink if I’m around. Booze is a big part of my job too, not as much as it used to be cuz you’ll get canned, but it’s still there.

I always fall asleep with an old movie that I like on. Jaws, old Planet of the Apes, 2001 will really knock you out…lol. And don’t google what that movie is supposed to mean, it’s weird.

Dang. Running out of folks to have a beer with. More power to ya.

Actually, I have been doing a "Dry January" for the last few years. During that time, I haven't missed it at all. Come Ground hogs day, no one would never know.

Was born in a Big City Will die in the Country OK with that!

Dang. Running out of folks to have a beer with. More power to ya. I didn’t say I’m quitting. But I can’t keep drinking 6-8 a night. I’m getting fat. Beer wasn’t my thing, but 6-8 triples a weekday evening was normal. Not sure how many calories are in Bud Zero, but they’re pretty good, like a light light beer or Michalobe Ultra…lol When I tried a 0% rye & coke, it’s tasted just like a 1oz shot of Crown but I realized I wasn’t drinking it for the taste…haha Not had a drink in over 45+ years never had a problem just something I never wanted to be “good” at. My LEO buds rarely have a beer or shot, and it’ll be just the one. Said they’ve seen multiple times a shift of what it can do. I miss some parts of it, alotta good times, but the odd bad time and the need for a stiff shot to straighten me out in the morning is enough for me…..saving a bit of $ but making way more in OT.
