Congratulations Wolfie, My Dad told me that he saw a guy jump down from a stakebed truck and leave his new wedding ring and the finger on the post. So mine spends every day but Sunday morning in the box, been married 47 years, when things get a little crazy just plan to stay married and you will.

Congratulations Donovan,
Leave the ring at home when you are on the boat. I know three people that have lost their fingers wearing them....one was her cousin, so I don't get an ounce of grief about it....... and mine is badly misshaped after my hand went through a conveyor trougher back when I did real work, not sitting in an office

I've got a $100 ring that is actually pretty nice. I have worn it every day since I got married 8 months ago and this past weekend had my first situation where I could have taken my finger off.
I'm going to try the silicon deal for awhile and just wear the good one to church and on special occasions. My good one is already showing signs of wear and I don't want to wear it out. My wife works in the dentist office and she wears a silicon one, any metal band or ring rips her nitrile gloves to pieces while working.
I still fidget with my ring daily but not nearly as much as I did at first. Still getting used to it I guess
Gotta live up to the nickname...

Congratulations to you, and condolences to your bride, Wolfie. My ring story happened about 6 weeks after putting it on. Working on a tractor starter when it shorted across the solenoid(sp) posts. Instant blister and when I pulled it off, the blister came with it. That happened to me the very last time I wore my wedding band. No better conductor of electricity than gold. I believe that the alloy they use in gold rings is what causes the resistance which causes the heat to burn you.
