Nate, Your point does appear to be an early triangle point, possibly Paleo. It also looks similar to the Hardaway type, which are Dalton-era (9,000 years old +/-)

Keith I don't have FB , So that's out, the blade is worked very well, I said Paleo but do agree with swamp wolf it might be transitional/Dalton as well, it is unifaced and very well put together, I have found a couple others close there that are of the Dalton style. Hope you all enjoy seeing it.

The base corner is knocked off. It's a very thin point.

I think you may be correct, especially with it being found in same area as the other. Late Paleo or early Archaic.
But, it's just a guess. Projectiles similarly shaped were made/used in every time period, as were uniface blades.
I'm not as familiar with midwest types as I am with southeastern US types. Due to the lithics used down here (mostly coral agate), it is easier to see the knapping characteristics than on other materials that are less glass-like. So, it's just a guess, unless there is context.

Nate, This is a poster that Kevin Dowdy of Bainbridge, Ga put together a few years ago. He photographed points from many Southeastern collections. The Suwannee point (red arrows) is one in my collection that my son found in a local river here. I've found a few other solid Paleo. One other (large 1st stage museum quality Dalton) has made it into one of his ID books. Also, I found a double fluted Clovis that has been photographed and documented by the University of Georgia. Check out Kevin's stuff at www.artifactsguide.com ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2024/06/full-11603-220643-screenshot_20240615_205342_google.jpg)

Great points guys. I wish I had a collection anything like that poster. Super fine points. Most of what I find are very worn due to them being field finds. Swamp Wolf, we gotta get you ‘unplugged’ ![grin grin](/forum/images/graemlins/default/grin.gif)

Took pics of a few of my cases.... Note beads made from seashells in upper right corner...found in a wash on a hillside. A buddy there with me picked up more than a dozen of those shell beads. ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2024/06/full-11603-220748-20240617_145125.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2024/06/full-11603-220749-20240617_144748.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2024/06/full-11603-220750-20240617_144738.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2024/06/full-11603-220751-20240617_144728.jpg) Double-fluted Clovis in center of this case. Made from Flint River chert. Found broken in half in road fill near a small creek. Documented by University of Georgia archeologist as Clovis find here in this area. ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2024/06/full-11603-220752-20240617_144936.jpg) River finds (mostly with mask & snorkel, but some scuba in deeper holes)...including the Suwannee type on the poster (center right) and the 1st stage Dalton (center left). Also a fish vertebrae with hole drilled to use as jewelry. ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2024/06/full-11603-220753-20240617_144717.jpg) Most recent finds, including this slate gorget (found in road fill). Slate does not occur this far south...traded? ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2024/06/full-11603-220754-20240617_144807.jpg) Have lots more, many broken/damaged...but these are the main highlights of what my family and I have found over the years. We have spent many hours, as a family, looking. Some great memories and family bonding!!! We would pack a lunch and go...all day.
