Not sure if I’m going to be able to trap much this year… starting July 1, Illinois will implement an additional 20 cents per gallon of gasoline and 21 cents per gallon on diesel…
So basically 40 cents per gallon tax …
This is going to affect us pretty hard….for those of us who are NOT in Chicago.
Folks in Chicago have the option of public transit…
The rest of us in the state get the double barrel middle finger.

Well, get an electric car, it's FREE!!!
Or just move downtown.

I try to avoid traveling through IL but if I can't avoid it, I make sure I do not need to buy fuel there. And this was before this new increase that goes into effect July 1.

The IL per gallon tax rate doubled in 2019 with an inflation index for future increases.



What the above quote does not tell you is that the rate per gallon was only .19 cents per gallon in early 2019. It also does not describe all of the other taxes and fees that amount to almost $1.00 per gallon.

According to that chart it's going to go up .little over a Penney and a half.

They will never have enough.

The gas tax in Pennsylvania is 57.6 cents per gallon, the highest in the nation.

We have to pay for biker lanes somehow......

If only they spent it on the roads.

I’m sure the roads are in excellent shape and all trees are cut back from power lines. Probably structurally sound bridges. Putting our tax dollars to use for the public

When I've traveled thru there I've tried to NEVER purchase anything in Illinois. Did eat at a Cracker Barrel there one morning though.

Better fact check me but I think you will only pay $100 per year tax on a electric car in Illinois . I bet when they tax the gas vehicles out of existence the electric tax will skyrocket too.

As of July 1 it will be 47 cents plus sales tax . You have to laugh when they talk about corporate greed the state makes about 60 cents a gallon on fuel and doesn’t produce one drop but it won’t effect my trapping or anything else I won’t give them the satisfaction
