Me too. He's peaked my intrest. I thinking I will. It's in a pretty good spot until the crops come out. Just a mile and a half from home. I'll keep u posted.

I've got a pile of rechargeables (mainly eneloops) that I thought would be great and a money saver. But it didnt work out that way. They seem to maintain enough power to run the camera at times---particularly in picture mode vs video or in day time. They tricked me into thinking everything was ok until I realized they didnt have the power to turn on the IR at night and also run video. Once I went to regular AAs the problem went away.

Set this camera on a wolf pee post. As you can tell other predators mark it also. Ignore the time and dates, that camera is too much of a pain to set them and I don't bother.

Looks like I need wolf pee, lol!!

This buck (1st three pics) is 6.5 years old this fall(even though he looks younger). He had the exact same rack shape when he was 3.5....just less mass and tine length. I named him Pinchers. The following year (his 4th fall) the entire 200 acre river bottom where he spent most of his time was clearcut...pine and hardwood. He left. Don't know where he went for a year, but he showed back up last fall with exact same rack configuration, but had lost his left eye. He had also moved out of the bottoms to the sand ridge and he is still there now. His bases and beams are thicker than last year.








And finally! Some poults on one of my properties. There were 3 adult hens and 8 crow- sized poults...actually saw them in a logging road this morning, too.

White patches on both flanks and each side of his snout. He was a button buck last fall...and has a slight humped snout.

Swee pics Swamp!! I really wish Pinchers didn’t have those little crab claws! A big mature 6 is a deer I’m wanting. A buddy of mine killed one several years ago that was 128” as a 6, lol. Deer stayed that way for forever and just kept adding length and mass. It was a beautiful buck that went over 200#. I’ll try and find a pic of it.

My last bowhunt in north Missouri (2022), I had the biggest 6pt I've ever seen 30 yds away for over 15 minutes...broadside. He raked in a scrape and rubbed a thigh-sized tree. This buck was absolutely stunning. Incredible main beam length and crab claws (g2s) that were at least a foot long. His brow tines (g1s) were about 8" too. Looked like he weighed well over 200lbs.

This was on the 1st day of hunt at 4pm and I had already seen several very good bucks (a couple better than the 6pt)....just outta bow range. I struggled with whether to arrow him and talked myself out of it and hung the Mathews back on the hanger and sat back down. He walked on down the trail and out of sight. I immediately regretted the decision, but.....

The next afternoon (same tree) this buck pictured came thru following a doe...15 yd shot. I had caught a glimpse of him earlier about 75 yds out. He made passing that trophy 6pt easier to swallow. I rough scored this one at 140". I'm not sure that 6pt would've made 140" but he likely would've been close.

Later that evening, my son was on a picked soybean field edge about 500 yds from me and texted me that the big 6 was out in the field chasing other bucks out of the field. He never had a close enough shot even though he had his Ravin X-bow. His description of the 6pt when I texted him back about the buck's size was OMG!!! But, a few minutes later he arrowed this nice 10pt...so we've almost forgot about that huge 6pt.

Both outstanding deer! Congrats!! The head on your buck is freaking huge! Bet that was a fun drag!!

I just like character. My buddy even offered me that 6 before he took it out, I just don’t shoot other peoples deer, lol.

Not sure if these guys will be around come archery season. The peanut farmer north of us got a depredation permit and I saw 5 or 6 laying in his field this morning. We shoot the brakes off them but we have more deer than 2 processors could handle in a single season. We shut one down last year, lol.

Sux on the neighbor having a crop damage permit. If they do it right/legal.....they'll just orphan fawns....and not kill any bucks....especially this late in summer as antlers are visible..so no excuses for violating permit.

My farmer neighbor to the north of the lease that the above pics came from is installing a high fence around the field. Says it gonna cost $50 thousand to do that field and another further north.

Gonna be interesting to see what this does to the deer movement patterns on that 400 acre lease.

Was able to drive an ATV right up to each of em....in those open hardwoods. Thank goodness.

Buck just showed up on the 26th. Been consistent evening / morning since. Hope he hangs around 2 more months.
