I have noticed over the years of trapping this area of Northeast Texas that there are an equal amount of coyotes with white tips on their tails.
Is this unusual or do you other coyote trappers notice the same for your area.
The reason the thought even popped in my mind is, while reading life cycles of coyotes the webb sites all give the physical traits such as life span, weight, etc. “And” they all say black tip tails.
What y’all say??????

Not unusual here. I tell everyone it’s from eating red fox.

I get a mix of a few white tip tails and mostly black tip tails here.

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

Caught a white tip female this spring right at the end of season. She was heavily rubbed pur I would have tanned her.

Roughly half the red fox I catch here in Southeast PA have a big snowball on the tip of their tails, the rest have none. Maybe from eating road-killed coyotes? LOL
