You'll miss them- everything is better with some cows around!

So, what is your plan going forward!! Income maybe missed but expenses don't be in the cattle business.

In the same position here I’ll still trap and hunt but will do it more selectively the days of doing 2 full time things is over it’s time to slow down and relax puttering is not so bad. It’s not like I don’t have 50 things to do already that I don’t get to. I have 100s of trap parts to build working traps with once I finish my trap shed repairs.

Time to slack off a bit.
I retired way back in 2012 from full time railroadin (but still trap and fur work)
Best thing I ever did.
I always tell the young guys to build up their pension so they can get out fairly young and then live life on their own terms.
Congrats 330.

Congratulations. Best move , selling your cows. I retired in 1998. Still have my farm . Do mostly what , I want to do . Have a farmer crops my farm, and takes good care of it. I can still hunt and go on it anytime. Do whatever travelling you want , while you have your health, as you get older, you can't do everything you once could. I took up bee keeping, they are a fun hobby. old 243

Congratulations 330. I retired this past November. Still trying to figure it out. I volunteer and am always looking for the next thing to stay busy.

I gave up all scheduled things ~8 years ago. No haying, no cattle, no job and I let the world go around without me. It has been some of the best years of my life. I loved my job and ranching and really was a struggle for me to throw in the towel. But I did!!

I can't find enough time to do all the things I want to do. So many things to do, So little time.

I never can understand when people say they are bored in Retirement. Savor every minute life is short, and tomorrow isn't a given.

I find myself asking “what day of the week is it” an awful lot anymore lol.
Everyday is Saturday!!!
Absolutely the best years if you can be retired with good health.
Doesn’t hurt to have a darling wife still working making good money lol
