Are finally completed. She finished radiation on Tuesday, and my son was with her when she rang the bell! The week before, she completed her chemotherapy treatments!
She has a few rough weeks left, before swelling and sores recede, but otherwise is doing quite well. We are hoping that she starts to get her sense of taste back so the feeding tube can be removed.
She had the G-Tube installed 5 or so weeks ago. She could not eat anymore by mouth, and was loosing too much weight. For us, the feeding tube was a blessing in disguise, and since, she has maintained a healthy weight!
Cindi’s surgery was on February 27, and since that day, most things that could go wrong, have gone wrong!
Everything from skin grafts not surviving, infections, blood clots, and a list of others, have tested her will, but each new problem only gave her more strength.
Cindi is kicking this cancer to the curb, and stomping it into a mudhole!!!!
She is my hero!
(UPDATE)
Cindi had her first post surgery PET scan, Tuesday morning. The Oncologist’s nurse just sent a message, stating that they cannot see any cancer cells. So, today we celebrate, and look forward to many more years.
I want to thank everyone for the prayers, and thoughts, and kindness during this time.
We feel so blessed by the lifting of the burden, in which we have endured.
Saturday, we host our family reunion at our home, and we get to spread the good news.

There is light at the end of the tunnel for sure! Recovery and subsequent healing takes time and patience is required.

Her feeding tube was a blessing for us, too. The nutrition she was able to take in gave her enough strength to jump on the healing train and stay on it. Some of the meds she was on were pretty large and we would grind them up for the feeding tube as her swallowing was not so good. She is having her tube removed in the next couple weeks.

May 2 she had her Thyroid removed. Her surgeon called and said the results of all of her tests have been completely negative. Today is Day 59 cancer-free.

I am telling you all this to give you strength and hope that this whole mess will go away at some point, hopefully soon. I wish you and your wife my thoughts and strength. Stay the course and the good news will keep on coming!

Prayers and good thoughts for you and yours.
