There are lots of skins going into the garment market.I would say the majority go there. As far as the novelty trade overall its a small piece of the market.

Where are these garments?

Though Greece not so much an end user of fur as a manufacturing center and then export somewhere else. Seems like always heard that especially in places like Castoria in Greece.

Believe Boco talked about that sort of thing one time and can correct and/or add more.

Mine that sold took a big hit comparing to last auction. Lowest L was $41us, now the lowest L was $26 and all my beaver in this one were winter. But with a poor food source, some won’t prime up.
A 3x SLT DGD XDK-BRN last time, $59.60, this time $36.

If FHA or outlet controlled the market, they wouldn't need to bother with an auction.

Fur auctions provide an idea of available supply and reveals the demand. Even the small association auctions.

But, there is no control of the market by FHA....not when there are large buyers such as GFWC.

When there was more than one large fur auction house (NAFA years and prior), I feel those big auctions did have more of an effect on the market...but that's gone now with just one international auction company left.

When they don’t have/sell anymore fur than they do these days (50,000 coon, 200K rats, etc.) then there isn’t much of a fur market to begin with.

I cant compare the 3x cause they didnt let mine go for what was offered.
It depends on the quality of your fur, yours might be western,in the march sale my 3xs sold for 65 and 70
My best beavers on the June sale was 1x that sold for 52.Same grade of beaver in March sold for 51.46

Buyers at the auction are looking to buy as cheap as they can. It is a guessing game how high they will go. If there is demand, you can always sell 100 percent if the price is low enough, but the Auction is trying to find the spot where there is price resistance. FHA will make more money if they can find this spot and sell 90% than they will selling well below this spot and selling 100%. The unsold 10% is not a zero, it can be sold PT at what it sold on the floor plus 10%, or it is inventory for the next sale.

The spot FHA is looking for is where supply meets demand, called price.
