I have a LS180 Skid that will not run. Diesel It will start up when you turn the key and run as long as the key is in the start position. When you turn the key loose it dies like you shut it off. Mice had moved in the head liner and were in the interment panel. I have no lights on the panel at any point now. There are 18 wires that plug into a circuit board and 14 of them have power. I have no idea if the other four should or not. I put a new ignition switch in and no change. I ran a hot wire to the fuel shut off, no change. I have looked what I can see for wiring over and can not see anything I think looks bad. The most the wiring goes through square tubing that is the corner post for the cab. So inside that who knows. Any ideas other than electrical trouble.

I would guess that you have a bad wire that you need. My dads skid steer burned up yesterday, presumably from a electrical issue of some kind. it hadn't even been started in over a week and caught on fire. Chewed wires and other electrical problems are no joke. If you can't fix or determine that the damaged wires are of no consequence find someone who can.

Mechanical or common rail fuel system ? Mechanical can usually be made to run with jumper wires, cam on rail needs lots of correct inputs from sensors before ECM will let it run.

GUK.....it's the sound they make when they hit the end of the cable

I would bet this is what it is from the way it acts to me. I am wondering if the thing to do is gut the wiring and go mechanical 100%. Get rid of all the add BS.
