Anyone happen to play with it? Been looking at it for replacing my .22 hornet.Still gotta figure out what I'm gonna do with that lil train wreck since selling guns is like pulling teeth for me....not to mention all the mods I did to it.
Seems like a fun lil caliber, not to mention I can form my own brass from all the trash 5.56 I got. Rock Island offers a neat lil bolt gun I like. And KAK just starting making AR barrels ( only a 8" right now though ) along with mag kits...hoping they will do what they did with the .17-5.56 and neck it down and have a modern ....or updated I guess .17 hornet equivalent on a AR platform grin probably will be a bit more down the road though since im back to remodeling the house. Thank God I heard how to budget and save though grin
Anyhow , anyone playing with this little guy ?

I purchased 3 of the RI carbines when they came out and 6 cases of ammo for ranch rifles for my ranch hands for varmints you have to keep them cleaned up the powder that they load the factory ammo is very dirty and fowls the barrel after about 10 rounds and the groups grow fairly quickly.
They may have changed powder since then had to be close ten years ago when I made the purchase
I also have a 1911 chambered in it and you can not shoot it without ear protection one round and my ears ring for a week

I'm curios what you get for velocities out of a rifle

I can understand it in places like the Philippines were civilians can't have 223/5.56 or other such places

I understand less when it seems like your working harder to get less , than just using 223 , which is plentiful in guns and ammo and components and parts and magazines.

so I am trying to understand why

Nah, I almost went with a 22ARC, but decided I’ll just stick with the basics. .223 .308 and .45 Yeah, a little on the boring side but I can stock up easy on ammo.
My only glitch is I listened to Bocephus too much in my youth and that Ruger symbol got in my head. I do have a Ruger M77 in .280. CJ has an American in 243 and Brennan has an American 7mm/08. I own an American and a GenII both in .308. A Predator and SFAR in .308.

I think it looks like it would be a fun caliber. Some guns are about fun and not self defense. When you base you entire pile on a SHF day, you are missing out.

it is fine to have a for fun caliber , I just don't understand so many half steps
go enjoy the hunt and maybe a little less of the minutia of the round , but if the minutia of the round is your hobby have at it.

Honestly it's just because it's different...and I like tiny odd ball calibers. Already have a bolt action 5.56 and a 20" .223 Wylde. Both shoot great, the both being 3/4" guns @100yd with their worked up loads .Both have a good load worked up and round loaded dope cards made, sooo....

I mean honestly guns are a hobby/addiction for me the whole utility thing is a bit overrated I guess for me

Also I do a lot of downloading and .223/5.56 just isn't a great cartridge to download smirk

I was wondering if KAK was only making 8 inch barrels because the round had made 90-95% of it's velocity in a 8 inch barrel

as a PDW round paired with a handgun it looks more interesting.

as a game cartridge it is hard to get excited about , for me , but I am very few products target market.

if I was the target market of auto manufacturers cargo vans and trucks with good AC , rubber floor mats , and very few entertainment or luxury features.
the dash would be organized like a server rack so you could easily mount radios and other equipment with a single mounting system easy to work on.
everything would have a trailer hitch and front and rear tow points , it would be made to last and have parts replaced to keep it in service.
and a major selling point would be the included tool kit that was everything to work on it , detailed manuals and technical specs.
accessories packages might include bunks for the van and campers for the trucks so you could pull the boat and have a place to sleep while on fishing trips.

maybe a rack for the little LP tank on the back bumper for your cook stove.
