According to Vote Smart on gun issues concerning Montana Senator Jon Tester received these marks: GOA - 0 % approval rating. NRA - 0% approval rating. Brady Campaign to End Gun Violence - 100% approval rating (between years 2013 - 2014). Montana Shooting Sports Association - B grade. National Shooting Sports Foundation -100% approval rating (between years 2021 and 2022). He did vote against Brett Kavanaugh for Supreme Court. I looked at his past voting record on guns and most of it was pro-gun. In his ads for his bid for re-election, he keeps saying how pro-gun he is. Kind of mixed messaging.

grin That's exactly right. Big Democratic sources out of CA and elsewhere has his leash. He wants folks to think he is a true Montanan, but he isn't. Uses his stupidity on loosing fingers as a war "badge" of being a rancher.

People in his hometown dislike him. As do veterans. But he plays photo op with a few vets , because he's scared to death of the real combat Navy Seal veteran who is now running against him. Who is absolutely supporting the Constitution .The real deal. Tester is as fake as Biden.

I believe MT will, Guss. I saw the debate between them and it was similar to a toddler arguing with a fighter pilot. In this case, a real pilot and Navy Seal vet. Tester had nothing to brag about.

The veteran not only served his country, but is still serving. His planes are helping fight fires every season. He donated a bunch to a children's hospital some time ago. He has a working cattle ranch and loves riding his horses with his family. This isnt for a "photo op " or a pat on the back. No one knew who he was until Biden abandoned all that equipment and soldiers in Afghanistan. That made Tim S. so angry that he began to run for office. More power to him.

As the president of MSSA says, "better to be a Montanan by choice, than by accident of birth."

That's true of many states where people have moved to and made it better than an amount of the locals have .

you have to remember a lot of PRO GUN politicians are Pro People with money having guns.

a real pro gun person thinks everyone should have access to guns and not extremely limited access to a few hunting guns.

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Yup!

Can you say that again for those not paying attention?

when you look at the details of most gun laws , other than a few new zealot laws that are around , 99% of them had some exception for people who had the $$ to buy the exception.

back in the 90s I did some work on the North shore as they call it , burbs of Chicago north of the city
guys who liked guns and had $$ made donations to the local PD and paid for a training and then they were sworn in as reserve officers , they might work a a parade a year if that but they paid enough in to have a badge so no gun laws in ILL applied to them they even carried concealed when none of the rest of the normal working people of the state could.

as well as many of the May issue states where you had to know the right person politically connected to get a ccl

that should boil your blood.

Pete, my blood stays at a boil when it comes to that. Drives me up a wall. They have special rights only money can buy.

Tester is just a tool of the socialist/democrats, he needs to be put out. The dems need the seat though so watch out for cheating from Missoula and Bozeman areas. The other guy sure isn't my first choice (I get the feeling he's just going to be a rino like Zinke) but I'll hope for the best (cause what else can we do right now)
