I was thinking that I could just dry off my hides with the air compressor while it’s on the carcass. Any thoughts on it?

It's the first thing I do with any wet fur. Especially on rats that have been under water for a few days.

Leaf blower works faster and is a lot less wear and tear on the air compressor.

I rub my beaver down with a towel
Then I blow it off with the air compressor
Then they go in front of the fan

Or, a Wet/Dry Vac and suck the bulk of the water off first.

Gas powered leaf blower, the air is a little warmer and makes the job just a little quicker

I towel off, can't snap out them out by grab head of pelt an shake hard outdoors as fat chunks from coon well fly long ways, land on neighbors siding or roof, then after towel off, comb fur up an hang in front 3 fans on hi speed from different directions of coon or beaver until dry, I don't dry on carcass, what do fur buyers use at there shop?maybe a commercial size fan like in factory they use? A fan built onto a cart with wheels , like in industrial setting ?

Depends on the air temp and humidity.

Hours if was submerged in water, actually 1 fan on low overnite well work, it be better if could fling them outside an get water off but fat chunks fly off an go all over in town in ur yard, it just takes time to dry a coon hide, u can try leaf blower but it not gonna get a coon hide that submerged in water, dry in minutes, takes time

Leaf blower here. Nearly all species arrive back with me soaking wet, regardless of how caught.

So skin coon then put it by a fan over night then flesh and board the coon or put in the freezer.

I wipe down the critters then quick brush and hit with the leaf blower
Skin and flesh, wash in blue dawn then rinse all the soap out
Ring out and hand squeegee as much water as you can. A few snaps like a bull whip from both ends
At this point I board it fur out with a few pins to hold it in place
I have a chunk of wood that I plunged the chain saw down into so it holds the board in place while I dry it completely now. Takes me about a cigarette to dry a coon.
I know that's a little extra work, but I like the outcome

When I had really wet coons I hung them up and used my larger wet and dry vac and by going against the fur grain I could remove a lot of water. Then lay that on some wire near my fans and they dried quite quickly. Never used the blower aspect but the fans worked well. Used the wet and dry vac on things I washed as well.

I use a shop vac to remove the water, bugs, dirt, and whatever else off the fur as the critter hangs. then spray a little shot of raid down the nozzle before turning it off. Put some fans on and eat dinner, by the time I am done with dinner everything is ready to skin.

ps. don't forget to wash your hands before dinner.
