With practice and proper trigger control it absolutely is possible. Hands in pocket and clapping is not the same as rapid fire shooting. Apples and oranges.
Here's Jerry Miculek doing 27 rounds from holster in 4.5 seconds. (The first shot at about 1.02 seconds - wouldn't count in the first shot to last shot time of a prone rifle shooter - so 27 rounds in 3.5 seconds - all on target).

That shooter was not a Jerry Miculek.

My "hands in pocket" start is just to simulate the time to get on target, try to hold steady on target, and then fire 5 to 6 shots. He didn't do that in 1.4 seconds.

You may can get in under 1.4 seconds with your Glock or modified AR on the range when your standing at ready and the buzzer goes off....that shooter...NOT.

Swamp Wolf I don't know the skill level of that 20 year old. I know prone with a rifle is also so much easier to shoot quickly with accuracy than with a handgun. I know bare elbows on that metal roof, in that heat, would affect my accuracy. I'm thinking being distracted and rushed by the officer appearing at the edge of the roof probably saved President Trump's life. That 20 year old under those circumstances came as close as humanly possible to killing Trump without getting it done. I believe all the people praying for Trump had something to do with the outcome of that assassination attempt.

Rob Schmidt on newsmax just said the police knew the shooter was on the roof 30 minutes before the shooting happened.

They also let the shooter shoot first before the snipers shot back killing him.

Also while the shooter was on the roof the police was training inside the building at the same time.

Let all that sink in if you can.

I'm also hoping the horrible failure of the security detail was due to gross negligence and or incompetence, rather than permitting the assassin an opportunity.

I think the kid made a good shot. The fact Trump turned his head as the shot broke is what saved him.
