Guessing the Fidelity account is not FDIC insured which is the primary negative comparison to CDs and what scares many off. Happy trapping! ScottW

Bought into Palantir a couple years back. AI solution based software doing a lot of big contracts with the military. It’s up over 60% so far this year and likely to keep growing as they infiltrate private sector.

I don't know about the fidelity account but I have a savings account through Morgan Stanley/Etrade that pays 4.5% apy that I can instantly transfer funds from to my brokerage account that is FDIC insured.

looks like TLT or BND IN THE BONDS or small cap stocks and GOLD and Silver is still looking so the etf GLD is a good place to invest .

50 + years of trapping & some fur buying and i still know nothing.

I'm surprised your ice cream van does so well, Jbyrd. We have one here that trolls through my work parking lot everyday now for 3 years... but I've never seen them make a single sale there.

Entrepreneurs are what make the world great!

But that’s not what the OP is asking

To compare, we would need to know a lot more information

Diversify, equities indexed to the S&P, some real estate, or REITS, but nothing tied to commercial real estate (at least not right now). 10% gold and silver. Google a history of Standard and Poor, the S&P since it's inception date almost 90-100 years ago and you'll find that it has appreciated almost 11.5% on average for the past 50 years. Almost 10.5% over the last 100 years. Pretty good track record. That math means your invested assets double every 6-1/2 years on average. But again in life there are no absolute guarantees. Over the long term, bet on America.

The best advice I ever got about investing.
Invest in what you know and understand. A diverse portfolio will make you money.

It also depends on where you are at in life. Higher risk when you are younger. Safety later in years.

The biggest thing to remember is to invest. Invest early and often. Never too late to start.!!!

Debt is a financial tool, learn how to use it correctly and it will make you money.

And not having any sure does allow great piece of mind and allows you to invest the debt payments without having to worry about things falling apart.

You can make money using debt sure I am now on my low interest auto loan I'm making 5.15% and my interest rate on the loan is 2.6% so I would loose money paying it off. But I have the cash available to do just that.

A lot of people have been successful using debt to make money BUT many many more have had something go south and end up bankrupt.

You may make money with debt but you will always do well and secure being debt free. At the very least have the money available to pay off the debt so you don't end up with your back to the wall
