What type of deer are you guys hunting?
We have black tail on the west side of WA, they do not respond to corn or mineral likes. Love appels, blackberry vines, new growth, ect...

Mule and white tail on the east side.(over the Cascade Mountain),,,, Sage deer

We went from the ground being saturated here to now needing some rain. I have mowed most trails once but I haven't tried to get back into the Ash swamp yet. I have one stand that needs the staircase rebuilt and another in the Ash that needs to be leveled again.

I have nothing clever to put here.

Me personally I'm not interested in baiting so it's not a big deal.

I agree. It isn't for me even if it were legal. Come November, a bucks belly isn't his first priority.

You are correct, but that does belly will take her there and where she is he will follow, and every other buck that cuts her trail.

Personally I hate the rut with archery equipment. Most bucks are cruising about Mach2 with their tongue hanging out.

I am not an archery hunter but what you just described is my FAVORITE thing about hunting the rut. That super fast walk that they do, just cruising. You don't even need to see the head to know it is a mature buck in the rut. Dad talk me to "BLAT" at them and they lock right up. I have a handful of nice bucks on the wall I shot exactly that way. It is harder than you think to BLAT with a cigarette in your mouth than you think!

Glad I'm not the only one that's shot most of my deer with a cigg in my mouth, lol.

Same here, I prefer bedding areas and mid day can be just as good as first or last night. I shot a big 10 many years back right at noon. He came hustling through the Balsam's so fast looking for a hot doe that I didn't even have time to take the apple I was eating out of my mouth! I would bet from the time I first saw him until he was on the ground wasn't over 2-3 seconds. That is a rush!

I have nothing clever to put here.

Not legal here

You just need a sign next to it saying it's for squirrels. Any deer caught eating out of the pile will be shot.

I have few buddies that got all excited about radishes and the deer never touched them. And I mean those big jokers too. I didn’t even know radishes got that big.

Don't know about deer but cows will eat the radishes and turnips much better after a hard freeze. Heard it increases their sugar content. Maybe doesn't get cold enough down there... ????
