Kentucky pulled similar crap, moved from the county court houses which took about 5 mins to get a license, to regional centers that takes 2 hrs in person, or go online and jump through those hoops.

When it came out they talked of more efficiency, etc. but we got the opposite, because government is in the business of giving you what you don't want.

Our small town (population of less than 1000) is the county seat and has a DMV office at the courthouse. Two great ladies work there and are excellent. Not very often I have to wait more than 15 mins. They get a lot of folks that travel 30-40 miles and drive by several other DMV’s just to go to our local one.

And make sure your name is pelt the same on all papers. All with or with out middle names not some of each.....jk

I'm glad we got a good one in the nearest city about 45 minutes away.

Mine had expired. So had the camera card that is a temporary license good for sixty days.

I was at a tool rental place one morning and the counter guy wouldn't rent me anything because my license was expired. I needed a floor grinder for that day's job. Luckily the good Driver's License Center was only ten minutes away. I was in and out with my new license in under twenty minutes, no appointment, just walked in.

I went back to the rental place and got a new counter guy who didn't even ask for my license as ID. The other counter guy was right there and wouldn't look at me as I was mean-mugging him. LOL

Buzzy check the website daily. They issue new appointments daily. Check surrounding counties but don’t go too far. My dispatcher had the same issue a few months ago. Three of us got online at the same time, checked the same counties and got different results. She ended up driving 45 minutes to Greenville to get hers renewed. I agree with you, it has become a mess

One time in the last few years I was at our local DMV Office and it was really crowded. When you fist walk in they give you a number and some robot tells you when it is your turn as well as being told by a ticker on the wall which number was being served. It got down to within about 10 of my number and I had to take a leak. Went into the bathroom and got to a urinal and really did not have a place to put my ticket so I held it in my teeth and started my business. Not sure why or how but about 3/4 stream I dropped the ticket right into the urinal.

After mulling the options, thinking about the strata of humanity that used that urinal, I let it lay and left the DMV right about the time my number was up.
