The stuff we got for 4th of July wasn't much better than immature field corn.

We had corn on the cob for 4 or 5 meals thus far, it has really been good. We get it at a local produce stand.

I got myself a seniors' GPS.
Not only does it tell me how to get to my destination,
it tells me why I wanted to go there.

I bought 5 dozen ears of sweet corn at auction on Friday for $4.50 a dozen, which is the most I have ever paid for it. I have never paid more than $3.00 a dozen before and usually wait until it goes for 50 cents a dozen. I don't think it's going to drop much this year. The auction lost 3 of the largest Amish producers, who moved out of state. Prices on everything have been higher the 3 times I've gone this year. The corn is very good. We are eating it fresh, canned some and will freeze some.

I wanted to plant corn this year, but I'm not walking very well. I should find out Friday if I need another surgery.

Hopefully I can plant sweet corn next year.

Keith

You should take a load of corn back with the pots and bring a load of lobster on the way down.

Had to stop growing it. Never had a big patch but oldest dog started tearing it down and eating it then taught the two other dogs. Discipline didn't work. They still thought it was worth it or some would be ate and I wouldn't know which one was the culprit.

Here in northwest Wisconsin the local growers say July 28th. A guy from southern Minnesota showed up selling produce. $14 a dozen but the weekenders who come up buy it. He's also had tomatoes with grocery store stickers on them. I'll wait a few more days for local.
