Sounds like you take whatever freedoms some people don’t like no problem I think you will be wasting your time explaining freedom principles to that kind of mindset. LOL

You say they're all infractions on freedoms. Using that logic... the government should not hold big corporations accountable on how your food is processed. They could label poison as edible and sell it to you . Who cares if it's riddled with salmonella? You're free! No gov money spent on FAA. The airline should be free to decide if the plane you fly on is safe and figure out which runway is open. No zoning? You'd rather have Walmart buy the property next to you and put in a super center. At least you and Walmart are free. Just trying to get some people on here to use the brain God gave you and think things through instead of the glib, talk points that make no sense.
You started this by asking what freedoms have we lost. Now you're going on about why freedoms are bad. Make up your mind. You have a failure of understanding what the free market is. Consumers in a free market arent forced to buy or do things thing dont like. If a company is known to kill its consumers or be unsafe, consumers wont purchase or use their services. Darwinism and all that. Answer the question about hydric acid? Ban or no? Kills nearly a thousand kids a year in the US.

Where did hydric acid come from answering a question about guns??
It is a defining test that anyone should be able to pass. Ban or no?

So you don]' have freedoms try living over seas We are living in the freest country in the world.by the way how would you change it? You have laws and regulations on this site you have to follow to post here. which laws would you do away with? Difference between the USA and most other countries we the people have Rights. Other countries, the government has rights on what it can do to you. Its why the left criticize The Constitution because as Obama said its a "charter of negative liberties". Dont conflate freedoms with Rights. They are not the same.

PAfoxman, meth is illegal in KS. We don't have meth heads.

Well at least there's some reasonable people on here. Some very logical posts. I'm not confused as to freedom vs rights. A post near the beginning said we have lost a lot of freedoms in the last 20 years. I said... name one. The only one that's been raised is the freedom to use foothold traps in some states. As far as the acid question.... I'll answer when you answer the question I posed to you first. Should your methhead neighbor that has 4 felonies be able to buy a gun to kill his spouse. Because you quoted a computer ( background check) as a loss of your personal freedom. Yeah we mentioned a lot of freedoms that were lost. You just didnt like the freedoms lost. Constitutionally, if you've finished your sentence(jail time and any probationary time/fines) you should get your gun rights back. It doesnt say "shall not be infringed unless you're a convicted felon". Now about that acid...

As far as trapping its a privilege and not covered by the constitution, the second amendment yes a right as far as our constitution goes and should be granted even for felons and concealed carry. The government doesn’t “grant” the right. They are just not supposed to infringe upon it.

What freedoms have you lost in the last 20 years? (Something you hv NO control over, you are legally not allowed to do that you could 20 years ago) Not saying there isn't any.... just curious
Pafoxman, here are three:
I held a commercial turtle trapping license in Minnesota for decades, when the Democrats got control of the MN Legislature they banned turtle trapping, a regulated activity that had gone on since Minnesota became a state. Total ban, no biological justification. So I can't trap even one turtle anymore.
Schools are supposed to have local control, the same Legislature and the same Democrats that banned turtle trapping decided to ban any Indian nicknames that a school had. So the Sleepy Eye Indians, where I was in the graduating class of 1983 had to change their nickname at great expense. Never mind that no one complained, the Democrats in charge didn't care and forced the change. So much for local control of the school. So the Sleepy Eye Indians, which had been the school name for decades is not referred to by that name anymore.
My younger daughter is 19 years old, she goes to college and works two jobs. She is a waitress at a golf course, she can serve drinks all day long. After work by law, she cannot sit down in the bar with her coworkers and have a beer or mixed drink. When I was 19 I could go into any bar in Minnesota and order any drink I want. 18 is the age of majority, she should have any right a 21 year old has.
Steady erosion of rights driven by the Democrats, who hate their miserable lives and can't stand anyone else going out and living their own lives, working hard, being productive and being happy.
