If I were to take fish oil and squirt it on sheepswool and make pocket sets and dirt hole sets with it, would it catch coons and maybe mink?
PETA is stupid.

Marshmallows, cat food and grape Kool-Aid mix for coon. Canned mackerel for mink.

Oily fish are better. Canned sardines and jack mackerel are cheap off the shelf fish.

Fish oil is cheaper and easier to carry around than fish. If you want to be a mink fanatic, get a bunch of cut up carp. Fish oil I just punch a little hole above the pocket and put the oil in that. or just squirt it above the face of the pocket. If it rains, it will bring the oil back up to the surface. For just coon, Id just do the punch hole or three with your stake about a foot above the water with the fish oil in it and be done with it. Coon arent worth digging a pocket for. Even if they were 30 dollars again. Those punch holes will catch coon without doubt, but an actual pocket is more attractive not only to coon, but to mink and rats. And it doesn't take much time or effort to wallow out a pocket. That be my take, anyway.

So if I use a little sheep wool in a pocket with fish oil squirted on it, will that take mink? And if I make the pocket look like it’s been scratched on by a muskrat, will that be better

As said above, fish itself is going to do better. No need to upset mom n dad. Take a few bucks to the grocery store and grab a can of jack mackerel or sardines. Heck you can even use tuna fish. Use the fish oil as a trailing scent if needed or squirt a few shots in there with the fish. You’ll do fine.

And it doesn't take much time or effort to wallow out a pocket. That be my take, anyway. Not in this heavy clay soil. If I wanted mink and rats, a pocket is better. But soley for coon, its too much work. So if I use a little sheep wool in a pocket with fish oil squirted on it, will that take mink? And if I make the pocket look like it’s been scratched on by a muskrat, will that be better Scratching is ok, but getting your glove wet and smearing the mud all around the pocket makes it standout like a flashlight. Faster too. For mink, you're better off with bait, fish oil alone doesnt seem to do much for mink. Also making a pocket as deep as you can makes the set much more attractive and effective for mink and you got a better chance of it entering the pocket with all 4 feet

Canned Jack Mackeral will catch both mink and coon in a pocket set.
My doctor suggested I start doing squats, so I moved all the beer to the bottom shelf of my fridge.

ground up crawdads are my favorite coon bait. Hard to seine them in cold weather. Since Mom dont want froze stuff in her her food locker, the jack mackeral is a fine plan. Buy a can or two as you are able. Its a great coon bait and cheap.
